I wasn't sure how many people were interested in the Java version, but here it is. This a zipped jar file that runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, or anything else that runs Java. Currently you can't draft in this version or the regular version of MTG Forge, I must have made a mistake somewhere. Just unzip everything a directory and execute the file "java -jar run-forge.jar"
MTG Forge Java Version - Download
Why is there a specific java version? My folder still has the jar file, and I can click it directly if I want. The EXE isn't required, right?
ReplyDeletebut you need to run the single .exe file to get that .jar file, ever tried that on a linux/mac/etc machine? doesn't work! thanks a lot for the java-version forge! :)
ReplyDeleteum.. no, read what I said, I can double-click the jar, and it runs fine.
ReplyDeleteyup.. I can also run the game but clicking the jar file. Anyway I can beat the computer even by letting them go 2 turns first. Im begining to feel like a pro. Maybe I will join the next tournament since I have quite some winning streak here
ReplyDeletebut in the previous version (just the windows installer) there was just an .exe file, and AFTER installing there was the .jar file in the folder, and you can't run that .exe file on a not-windows machine
ReplyDeleteThis is great, thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteI included the Windows exe just in case someone wanted it. In a previous version of MTG Forge, the exe would temporarily "drop" the jar the file, this was done accidentally. I use the same exe file for each new version of MTG Forge, since it just runs the jar file.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it works on Mac, Linux but I don't have any test machines, feel free to send me some :)
I was able to run an older version of this on a mac, when there didn't used to be a .exe file. Now I'm running a new Macbook Pro with OSX 10.5 and when I click on the .jar it won't run, instead it says: "The java .jar file cannot be launch". However, the deck builder application runs....wierd. Are there any mac users out there that can get this to work?
ReplyDeleteWhen I run windows vista via parallells and click on the .exe it works just fine.
