A king was nervous about the future and asked a wise man, “Tell me something that is always true” and the wise man replied, “Change”.
This will be the last entry for this blog. It has been a great five years but I think it is time to be moving on. Forge is a huge success as well as this blog. Currently the blog gets 650 hits a day which is phenomenal for a niche topic. Writing a regular post of 150-300 words takes around 90 minutes and is always a challenging.
I created Forge and this blog when I was at my lowest point in life and did not know what to do with my time. Thankfully my real life has been improving so now I have less free time. I haven’t programmed anything in more than a year but I will probably start another programming project sometime when another itch needs to be scratched. (Most open source projects start with somebody having an itch.) I have some interesting ideas about another trading card game videogame but no concrete ideas or code.
Thanks for reading. You the readers have improved my life. Thanks for playing Forge and thanks for reading this blog.
Keep on tapping,
mtgrares
p.s.
--Forge will continued to be developed and new cards will be added. New versions of Forge can be download from cardforge.org
--I will try to updat list of all Magic programs because it seems to get a good number of hits.

Best wishes, wherever you go.
Thanks for all of your efforts, on Forge and on the blog.
Been one hell of a ride, will miss reading these, can't wait to see what you have in store next
Thank you for what you've done!
Your efforts have kept interest in the game "Magic" long after I cheased to buy cards. (I spent quite a lot at the time).
I hope this project will go on forever, and you deserve the greatest thank you for what you started.
Thanks for the positive comments. This blog and Forge have been very fun.
I doubt Forge will ever run on the iPad.
Fantastic little community you've inspired here! I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Thank you for allowing me to waste countless hours at work. Best wishes!
Thank you very much for this project. I had to stop playing the real deal because I just can't afford the "Collectible" clause for this otherwise great strategy card game. I wish it would die out like pogs and marbles so they can move on to what they've seen works better...buying expansions of cards (ala Duels). You buy an expansion, get access to 4x of all cards. Then people compete for prestige or money, not necessarily more cards. Again, I know this won't happen until the current model fails, but unfortunately those with an insane amount of disposable income will prevent us w/o from ever enjoying it.
Sorry for the tangent. Again, thank you for Forge. I've spent more time playing this than any other game I can think of.
So is this it? No more future versions?
Best of luck to you then. This was my one way of playing... :(
Thanks for all these years :)
"So is this it? No more future versions?"
There is a full team of developers and programmers that have been updating this for quite a while. It's not over.

Ok. Yeah, misread that it's just the blog.
I seriously love this program. I don't have time to go to FNM, and don't get to play this game b&m style. So Forge has been my go to platform for playing magic.
So i really want to say thank you to all who put this program together.
Again, best of luck to MTGrares. And thank you to the dev/support team!
Thanks to you for your work all these years.
i have been a avid reader of your posts. its was and honor to read. all the very best.
I wish you luck on your new adventures. Thank you for all your mtg writings. Please keep us in the loop.
I will try you guys "in the loop". I may occansionally update this blog but it won't be on any type of schedule.
hi...
I found that blog and the forge first time today but i never seen something like that.
I played magic about ten years ago and stopped with mirodin but now i live second year in belgium and i want to start play again but i bussy so i dont have a lot of time to go to play somewhere, to testing my deck and learning new cards in the play. but forge? it`s amazing, more for i can use it on linux (because I have no free money for mac ,and windows? better is nothing then them:-D )
so I have to say you a lot of times thank you for your work. i hope you will have luck everywhere you touch the earth by your feet...
peace to you, to your last five years and to your future!!
