I started Forge, which is an open-source, free project that lets you play Magic: The Gathering against the computer. Currently other people are updating Forge and there will be no more posts to this blog.

I've played about 4 times with the new rules. 'Damage doesn't go on the stack' is the biggest change. Occasionally, the new ordering rules come into play. But over 95% of the time, combat is the same as it has always been. It changes the strategy a little, but just a little, and any rules changes will do THAT. I don't think it's a big deal.
I agree with rising fruition. At first I was very disappionted about the new rules. But after playing a while, I can think of only one game where they really mattered :where I had a combat trick ready and it mattered how my opponent ordered my blockers.
Sure, Mogg Fanatic became weaker. But note that it has been brought back to it's original state prior to 6th edition.
Does it mean that now I wouldn't be able to kill an attacking creature with Royal Assassin without getting damage?
